Some of the new generation of digital printers produce graphics that present challenges for conventional laminating processes. Some of the finishing oils contain silicone preventing good laminate adhesion expecially for applications where the bond comes under mechanical pressure. This can cause creases. While Jenrite markets ColourBond films to overcome this problem, the entry-level machines that are ColourBond compatible have not always been as robust or as fast as the market would like. The Discovery 380/500 Dual Laminators combine the benefits of heat shoe and hot roll technologies to provide a robust and quick solution for laminating.
